Club committee & team

You can expect to see many of these friendly faces below floating around the Club at any given time.

The Masterton Club Committee gathers monthly and oversees all the higher-level decisions of the Club. They also plan and organise all of the great events the Club runs throughout the year.

Abby Esler
president

Abby Esler was born and raised in Masterton and has been a member of the Club since 2019. Abby is an Insurance Adviser and Director of Umbrella Group based in their Masterton office. 

Sandee lidbetter
Vice President

Sandee Lidbetter has been living in Masterton since 1984. Married to Len and brought up her two children here. Currently is semi-retired.

Tristan has been a Financial Adviser for the last 12 years and is a director/shareholder of Umbrella Group (formerly AMP) in Masterton.

Prior to working in the Financial Advice industry, Tristan spent many years in the hospitality industry as a manager and owner.

Beange

Bringing to the Club a life time of experience, I was elected to the committee in 2007. 

Since then have held  the positions of Vice President, then President for four years, and still serve on the committee.

MANAGER

Olivia initially a Wellingtonion, has been living in Masterton since returning from Melbourne after a decade. You can find Olivia in the office during the week, but also behind the bar and helping in the dining room on members night. Olivia also helps to ensure your special event or function runs seamlessly and is the best event you’ve had.

OFFICE

Bill, our our resident wedding celebrant and comes from a background of working in the hospitality industry for many years. Bill is one of a kind, barrel of laughs, and knows what’s what around the club.

Keith
Hunt

Born and educated in Wairarapa, served on local youth organisations, director of Eastern and Central Community trust from 1992-1999 and the Regional Advisory Board of Westpac Trust from 1996-2000. Purchased a farm in the Wairarapa in 1997 and sold in 2012. Co-owner of Reeves Office Products Depot from 1998-2012. Former President of the Club 2014-2019.

Stephen hautler

Currently the Snooker Custodian for the Masterton Club, and has been a member of the committee for many years. Well known throughout the Wairarapa, Stephen was born and raised in Masterton. Stephen is currently a commercial broker for PGG Wrightson Real Estate.

Mallory
dawes

Mallory grew up in Masterton and is now raising her two children alongside her husband Kinane, residing out Kopuaranga. Mallory is self-employed as a Director of Supplejack Contracting, specialising in Wildlife Management and takes care of the Health, Safety and Developments of the business and its team.

Richard
Jackson

Richard was born and raised in Hastings, then joined the Navy for a 31 year career that took him not only to sea but also to a series of (mostly) warm places. He moved to Masterton in 1999 and joined the Club some years later.  He listens to National Radio and talks about airplanes....

Isabel aka Izzy is a whizz in the kitchen alongside Sharon for all of our food and functions. Isabel is also our sole chef on a Friday, serving up delicious Friday night meals for dine in or takeaway.
